The Galesburg Community Foundation has named Shawn Hedden as its new Director of Finance and Operations.
The graduate of the University of Iowa and Galesburg High School will oversee the financial and operational functions of the organization. He’ll manage the organizations over $30,000,000 in investments and assets and will be responsible for overseeing human resources, operations, and information technologies for the foundation.
In a press release, Hedden says, “Working at the Community Foundation allows me to not only use my accounting skills but to also give back to the region I call home. Growing up, living and now raising my family in this area I see the great potential here and am pleased to help our region grow even more through local philanthropy.”
Hedden comes from accounting firm Blucker, Kneer & Associates where he was a staff accountant. Prior to that, he served as a credit analyst at The Farmers & Mechanics Bank and was an insurance producer for State Farm.
GCF President and CEO, Joshua Gibb, says, “We are pleased to have Shawn join our team. We look forward to his expertise in managing the Community Foundation’s growing number of philanthropic funds, assets, and investments that positively impact our communities across Knox and Warren Counties.
